Team Ecosynth

Advisory Board

EcoSynth has set up an advisory board with renowned experts from the chemical and pharma industry, which serves as a soundboard for our internal R&D projects:

Dr. Dirk Van Deynse

Dirk Van Deynse obtained a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry (Leuven University) in 1980, followed by a postdoctoral training at the Laboratory of Photochemistry at the same university. He started working for Tessenderlo Chemie in 1984 as a research chemist and became Manager of the newly build pilot plant in 1989, and four years later “Chief Engineer” responsible for the development and optimization of production processes. In 1999 he was appointed director of R&D and was accepted as board member of different affiliates of the group (in Belgium, UK, Italy and China). He ended his career as Business Unit Manager of Organic Chlorinated Derivatives, and retired in November 2014.

Dr. Guy Van Lommen

Guy van Lommen is a Medicinal Chemist with more than 40 years experience. After his PhD study at Brussels University (both VUB and ULB) and a postdoc in Tucson Arizona, he joined J&J - Janssen Pharmaceutics in 1981. He has held several positions in the Medicinal Chemistry group of Janssen Pharmaceutica in Beerse and eventually headed the Beerse Medicinal Chemistry Department (1992-2001).
